INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS: All international orders may be subject to import duties (particularly EU addresses). Ever since the US government started imposing tariffs on goods being imported into the US, many countries have responded by charging duties on everything coming in from the US. As of November 2025, about 75% of orders shipping to the EU are being hit with duties (on a single D-Sub it’s anywhere from 15 to 40 Euros). This is out of my control and at the customer’s own risk/responsibility.

I first built one of these for myself around 2007. I was looking into buying a Yamaha Subkick but found them a little too pricey and figured I could build something myself. I went through a bunch of different speaker cones until I found one that actually blew away the Yamaha. Shortly after building it, a friend borrowed it and he told me to name my price because he wasn’t giving it back. So I sold it to him and built another one. This happened a few more times with different friends so I built a batch of 10 of these in 2011, which sold within a couple of weeks. So then I did another batch… and another… As more people have been interested in having me build one for them, the batches have become bigger and as of 2020 I now have them in stock permanently, ready to ship at any time.
As of April 2025, I have started building a 10dB attenuator into the XLR connector of the D-Sub. The original design had a very high output that could be challenging when using a preamp that does not have a PAD switch. Additional in-line PADs can be purchased here for use with older D-Subs, or to further attenuate the level of a current D-Sub or any other microphone.

All my products come with a lifetime warranty. In the extremely unlikely event your D-Sub stops working (under normal use) within one year, I will repair it and pay for shipping. If it stops working after one year, I will be happy to repair it for free. You just pay shipping and replacement parts (if needed).
